Thomas Tuchel has already made his feelings clear on Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Erik ten Hag’s future as United manager is looking increasingly uncertain ahead of the summer, with Saturday’s 1-1 draw against relegation-threatened Burnley having seen the Old Trafford club fall a mammoth 13 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa in the Premier League table.

With Ten Hag seemingly on the brink, Tuchel is among a spate of managers to have been tipped to take over at United in the summer.

The 50-year-old is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season after a disappointing domestic campaign for the Bavarian giants.

And German publication Kicker even claimed last week United had made contact with Tuchel over the prospect of returning to the Premier League a little under two years after departing Chelsea.

Should Tuchel take the reigns at Old Trafford among his priorities will be getting the best out of Rashford.

Having claimed a 30-goal goal haul in all competitions last term, the 26-year-old England forward has struggled for form this campaign.

Tuchel is a fan of Rashford, however, having publicly sung his praises while Paris Saint-Germain boss.

"We value him very much when he plays in England and not Parc des Princes, honestly, because (him scoring against us) gets a little bit annoying," Tuchel said back in December 2020.

"I have met him as an opponent three times and every time I've met a calm and humble guy and a nice person, which is amazing. I like this mixture a lot.

"For me personally, the sporting side is clear - he's a big threat with his speed, with his ability to score, with his determination and his finishing.

"He's very precise, taking shots inside and outside of the box. He is super rapid on counter-attacks and strong in the air with headers.

"He's had a big impact and it's nice to see guys like him from the academy having such a big impact in a big, big club like United."
