Jadon Sancho’s instant eight-word message after Champions League win as Borussia Dortmund react with two comments

Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho shared his instant reaction after German side Borussia Dortmund punched their ticket to the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday evening.

Jadon Sancho returned to former club Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window after Manchester United agreed to a six-month loan spell for the player.

The 24-year-old United winger had been frozen out of the first team at Old Trafford after his rift with Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag in the current campaign.

Sancho had publicly hit back on social media last September after Erik ten Hag revealed the reason for the United star not making his squad for the Arsenal match.

The former England international reportedly refused to apologise to Ten Hag and was subsequently excluded from the United first team due to disciplinary reasons.

However, Sancho was offered a lifeline in January with his move away from Old Trafford, with the winger returning to the club where he made a name for himself.

The ex-Three Lions star, whose long-term future at United remains uncertain, has since secured regular first-team football since his return to the Bundesliga.

Sancho’s message after Dortmund win

Borussia Dortmund produced a stunning performance on Tuesday evening to knock La Liga side Atletico Madrid out of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Bundesliga outfit had lost the first-leg quarter-final tie 2-1 away from home before they welcomed Atletico Madrid to the Westfalenstadion for the return leg.

Dortmund emerged victorious on the night in Germany, with Atletico Madrid suffering a 4-2 defeat to the German side in the Champions League.

Jadon Sancho, who played the full 90 minutes against Atletico Madrid, was in the starting XI for the crucial second-leg clash at the Westfalenstadion.

The Manchester United loanee impressed with his performance, with Sancho making way for Dortmund teammate Salih Ozcan in the 86th minute of the match.

Following Dortmund’s 5-4 aggregate scoreline win over Atletico, Sancho took to social media and shared a heartfelt message with his Instagram followers.

The Dortmund winger wrote: “SEMI FINALS! [sic] Great fight from the team today!”

Dortmund react to Sancho’s message

Dortmund took to social media and posted two messages on Instagram in response to Sancho’s post.

One of the club’s messages included a chant of the ex-England winger’s name, while another praised Dortmund for reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

“SANCH SANCH SANCH SANCH [sic],” Dortmund wrote.

The club posted in another comment: “Top 4 in Europe, now let that sink in.”

Dortmund will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League later this month.

PSG overturned their 3-2 first-leg deficit and produced a comeback from 1-0 down in the second leg to knock 10-men Barcelona out of the Champions League.
