Man City star Erling Haaland fires Arsenal Premier League title warning as Arteta message clear

Arsenal news as the Gunners receive frightening message from Erling Haaland on the eve of their huge clash against Manchester United

Erling Haaland is looking for more success at Manchester City

Unfortunately for Arsenal, goalscoring supremo Erling Haaland has no intentions to leave Manchester City. The Norwegian striker once more tops the charts for Premier League goals on his way to a possible fourth trophy in under two years at the club, though Mikel Arteta is hopeful of putting a spanner in the works yet.

Arsenal remain top of the league currently as the campaign heads into its final week. Pep Guardiola's side, boosted by 25 goals in 28 games (26 starts) from Haaland, could go to the summit on Saturday afternoon when they face Fulham.

It will then be over to the Gunners at Old Trafford to see just how much pressure is on City's trip to Tottenham two days later. Haaland is looking to score in his fifth league game in a row this season after managing seven in his last four games, and isn't content with the remarkable achievements since moving to the Etihad Stadium either.

"I want more," he told Men in Blazers. "Right now my only focus is winning the Premier League and after that, the FA Cup. I want to win more of these big trophies because the treble feeling was unreal. Try to be successful and develop as a player and a person.

"That’s a really important thing, not only for strikers but the whole team.. Look at the club, what they’ve been doing. They’ve won three leagues in a row and want to go for more. It’s a bit the same [mentality as me]: City win three in a row but imagine how it would be to win four?"

For Arsenal it is an ominous sign. Haaland has scored 61 times in the Premier League since joining in 2023 from just 63 games. His staggering record of 36 in 35 appearances (33 starts) last term was a big part of why Arteta was unable to match City right until the very end in the title race.

He scored in both home and away wins for City against Arsenal, helping to earn a crucial six points that would be the difference between the two sides in the table. Whilst he is around, even with questions still over the limitations he may put on the team in some ways, winning the league will be a tough ask.

"Obviously I’m still developing," Haaland continued. "I’m still the same player but I’m a better version of myself. I’m in the perfect place because still young and I’ve got Pep, who is in charge of me. I’m doing well and enjoying it. I’m happy."

He is first aiming to beat Fulham, dampening the hopes of Arsenal for another game at least. But moving forward it remains immeasurably harder to finish about City and Haaland with him in place.

Having been linked with a move away in the near future - Real Madrid are long-term admirers - Haaland shutting down talk of an exit will not please those that have to match his exploits on the field.

Arsenal did their bit to shut him down this season, reducing him to just 46 touches across the two matches, not conceding a single shot on target from the Nordic powerhouse forward. Even that may not be enough to stop City from claiming a fourth title in a row and their five in six years though.

With Haaland present now and for the years to come, Arsenal have been warned. Over to you, Arteta.
