Training at Arsenal as a striker must be painful at times.

Arsenal have the best defensive record in the Premier League for a reason. The Gunners have so many incredible defensive players on their books as well as two remarkable goalkeepers.

Speaking to Arsenal’s official club website, Jesus has been discussing what it’s like to train at Arsenal, and he’s named two defenders who are so painful to play against.

The striker says that he finds Gabriel Magalhaes and Takehiro Tomiyasu difficult to train against, claiming that neither player ever give him a moment of peace.

Gabriel Jesus’ toughest opponents in Arsenal training

Jesus spoke about what it’s like to train at Arsenal and who are the most difficult players to face off against.

“Who’s the toughest to play against in training?” Jesus was asked.

“Gabriel, or maybe Tomiyasu. Neither of them give you a moment’s peace!” Jesus said.

Arsenal training must be difficult

We really don’t envy Jesus.

Imagine going into Arsenal training everyday and knowing that you have to come up against so many fantastic defensive players.

Jesus named Tomiyasu and Gabriel as difficult opponents, and that’s before we even mention William Saliba, Ben White, Jakub Kiwior and even Declan Rice.

You won’t get a single second of time on the ball in these Arsenal training sessions, and we can’t imagine what it’s like to be a striker at London Colney.

It is interesting to hear Tomiyasu get a mention here. The Japan international is something of an unsung hero at Arsenal, but as Jesus says, the £17m man is one of the most intense defenders in the squad and he is a frightening prospect for any striker to come up against.

Arsenal’s defensive brilliance could well be what takes them to the Premier League title this season.
