Arsenal won't be missing too many key players as they prepare to take on Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

The Gunners have been without Reiss Nelson for the previous two matchday squads, with Jurrien Timber also missing out on the previous match against Bournemouth.

No explanation has been given as to why Nelson has been absent for matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth of late, though the winger could return for the upcoming trip to Old Trafford.

Elsewhere, Takehiro Tomiyasu is a doubt for Sunday's showdown after not being spotted in first-team training on Tuesday morning. The Japan international played the full 90 minutes of Saturday's 3-0 win over Bournemouth, though was not seen by Sky Sports during Mikel Arteta's latest training session.

Timber, who was in training, could therefore take Tomiyasu's place in the matchday squad as he closes in on making the matchday squad of a first-team fixture for the first time since the opening day of the season.

Discussing the Dutchman last week, Arteta told reporters: "Yes, everybody is fit and available so now it's the headache to make the right selection. We won’t know that until we throw him [Timber] in there. It’s tricky because there are only three games to go and he has missed eight months of football.

"He’s played only 115 minutes of football with the Under-21s, it’s a question that can only be resolved by throwing him on the pitch and we will see what happens, we have to try to nail that decision when [we take it]."

Bukayo Saka, meanwhile, appears in contention to feature this weekend despite being seen in training with strapping on his leg. The England international was on the receiving end of a brutal pair of tackles from Lewis Cook and Ryan Christie during Saturday's win over Bournemouth, sustaining a cut to the shin as a result.

Commenting on this challenge post-match, Arteta said: "The honest answer is I haven't seen any of the incidents because I knew you were going to ask me," Arteta said in his post-match press conference. "I did it on purpose. The analysts said do you want to watch it and I said no because then I can tell the truth.

"I haven't seen them so I cannot comment or have an impression. The one on David, the foul, I cannot see because it's too far. The one on Bukayo, is it on purpose or not? I don't know so difficult for me to judge."
