Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has played down his touchline row with Mohamed Salah during the draw with West Ham. The pair clashed at the London Stadium last weekend as Salah prepared to come on for the final 10 minutes.

The Egyptian was visibly disgruntled about being named among the Liverpool substitutes and took exception to something his manager said on the side of the pitch. Salah then refused to speak to the waiting media at full time, warning: "There is going to be fire today, if I speak."

Salah appeared in good spirits during training this week and Klopp insists the matter has been resolved. "There is no problem. We are absolutely fine," Klopp said in his press conference ahead of the match with Tottenham.

"If we didn't know each other for long I am not sure how we'd deal with it but we have and we respect each other so much. But in general, the best situation is everyone is in the best place, we win games and score loads of goals and then incidents like that do not happen."

The incident sparked speculation over Salah's future at Liverpool, with his contract expiring at the end of next season. Saudi Pro League clubs are likely to reignite their interest but The Athletic reports Liverpool is planning for him to stay put this summer.

On his future, Klopp added: "He is incredible but I shouldn't speak about that. Other people will decide. I just try to help the basis for the future of the club but those decisions are for others."

Liverpool goes into this weekend's clash with Tottenham on the back of a run of just one win in five in the Premier League. But Spurs' defeat to Chelsea on Thursday night secured Champions League qualification for Klopp's side.

And despite the failed title charge, Klopp admits he believes making the top four is an achievement for his side. He added: "It doesn't feel like that to everyone but to me it does and it is how perspective can change during a season.

"It looked like we could go all the way at one point or a bit longer and it didn't work out but it is still probably third place behind two teams who go all the way. Going back to the start of the season, everyone knew how important Champions League would be and it is super important."

Liverpool.com says: Klopp and Salah are two strong personalities but they are right to move on from the incident. They have had a fantastic relationship at Anfield and will be eager to end Klopp's tenure on a high note. You would expect Salah to return to the starting line-up against Spurs and he is dangerous when he has a point to prove.
